Italy Railway Travel Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A landscape along a diagonal: a lake in the middle distance, hills behind, a shoreline in front, lettering small at the base. Railway companies sold scenery as much as seats and Italian posters of the 1920s and 1930s answered with three bands of colour and one horizon. The restraint is

Paris for the Weekend Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A city reduced to a few landmarks seen from above, a river bending through them, the sky pale and wide, the lettering confident and set high. The weekend trip became a mass idea in the 1950s and 1960s, when flying stopped being exceptional and airlines began selling the city rather

1930 Monaco Grand Prix Racing Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A racing car forced into the foreground, its body reduced to a few pale shapes and its wheels smeared into ellipses, the city behind held flat like a stage backdrop. Posters of the late 1920s and 1930s were drawn by illustrators who understood that a car is mostly movement and

Spring Fashions Arrival Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A figure in the clothes of the season, light line, flat colour, lettering set around the silhouette rather than above it, the pose turned so the garment reads as a shape. Department stores used illustrated posters to announce each season long before photography took over fashion advertising. A drawn silhouette

Aeropostale Vintage Poster

From: 90,00 zł
AEROPOSTALE across the top in a heavy blue band, then a red and cream mail plane banking over palms, a sugarloaf mountain and a small white church tower. Below it: SERVICO POSTAL AEREO, EUROPA – AFRICA – SUL AMERICA, and the company’s office address in Rio. Pigment print on 210 gsm

CafiAspirina Pain Relief Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A product presented as a promise: the package drawn large, a gesture beside it, lettering confident above, palette warm, composition frontal. Patent medicine advertising between the wars was among the most inventive graphic work in Europe and Latin America, strong shape, one colour, a claim. The grammar is the same

Winter Sports Vintage Poster

From: 90,00 zł
A slope drawn as a diagonal plane, figures small and leaning into the turn, the sky one flat colour, lettering tucked into a corner. Winter tourism built its advertising on one claim, the snow is there, come down the hill and answered with geometry rather than detail. The slope is

Swiss Vintage Ski Poster

From: 90,00 zł
Samaden, in the Engadin: a skier in red carving down a slope, poles crossed, a small monoplane hanging in a pale sky above the peaks, and the resort name written across the snow in red script. The mountains are flat planes of blue and white, the light is morning. Pigment print

Collections put together by subject

A hallway with plants asks for botanical work. A kitchen asks for something plain. A child's room asks for colour that can be looked at every day without wearing out.

Start from the subject the room is already about, and the shortlist builds itself.

The collections

  • Floral — botanical prints, from Morris patterns to single stems.
  • Geometric — grids, circles and bars that organise a wall.
  • Travel — railways, resorts and the middle of the last century.
  • Music — concert posters and album sleeves at wall size.
  • Film — one-sheets and festival posters.
  • Ski — alpine resorts, drawn before photography took over.
  • Kids — animals and colour, built to survive a nursery.
  • Minimal — one image, one wall, nothing competing.

Mixing two collections

If the wall is large enough, two collections can share it — but keep one of them dominant. A third group usually breaks the effect and the wall starts reading as a set of unrelated decisions rather than a collection.

For a single large piece instead of a group, look at minimal or at the iconic prints.
