The image
A blue field with two darker shapes cutting in from opposite corners, leaving a diagonal passage of lighter colour between them. Nothing is modelled and the edges are hard, so the sheet reads as an arrangement of intervals rather than as a picture of anything.
Where it comes from
This is a contemporary graphic made in the tradition of mid-century abstract printing: flat areas of colour, hard edges, no attempt to suggest depth. The series works one hue at a time, which is why the pieces read as a set when hung together and why a single sheet looks deliberate rather than decorative.
On the wall
It suits a modern interior, a study or a hallway, where a large field of colour takes the place of decoration. Because the palette is one hue, it holds a big wall and still feels calm. In a group it should be the element that sets the temperature rather than the centre of attention.
In company
Pairs well with plain furniture and with photography in black and white and the rest of the Fusion Gallery series is designed to hang beside it. Avoid other saturated colour nearby, the single hue would stop reading as a decision.
