The image
A composition of flat planes in strong colour, arranged on a vertical axis, with lettering set into the structure rather than above it. The forms look architectural rather than pictorial: rectangles, curves and a single dark mass holding the sheet together.
Where it comes from
The sheet was made for the Festival de Lyon-Chambonnieres in 1956 by Le Corbusier, the architect who spent the same years arguing that a building, a piece of furniture and a printed page could obey one set of rules. That conviction is visible here: structure first, colour treated as material, ornament removed. Festival posters of the decade often commissioned architects and painters for exactly this reason, the sheet was treated as a small piece of construction rather than as advertising.
On the wall
It suits a study, a hallway or a living room with modern furniture, where a structured graphic gives a wall rhythm. Because the composition is vertical and dense, it makes a small room feel taller. In a group it should be the piece that sets the geometry.
